As many of you know, I'll soon be switching to Enhanced DR-DOS,, a modern system which has it's own multitasker and memory manager. In the meantime, I'm using MS-DOS 6.21 and want to try Desqview.

I've heard it's text only as opposed to a gui program, can improve memory usage and, of course, has major multitasking capability. But what I'd like to know is is it screenreader accessible? Can a reader handle the overlapping windows and such or would it not know what to do with them? Is it possible to run Quickbasic4.5 and wordprocessing software at the same time using Desqview or would that crash the machine? I want to be able to look at my tutorial on the same machine that I'm using to write my programs.

Oh, and I forgot. Is the cut and paste function accessible? For instance, if I scan a document, can I then paste it into a wordprocessor if the ocr software doesn't automatically create a document? What about pasting cutting and pasting off a webpage?

So I checked on Google to see if Desqview works with Vocaleyes or JAWS and came up very few results, either positive or negative. to complicate things, I found another multitasker called Double Dos. But when I tried to look that one up on it's own I got nothing. So now I'm very confused. Think I'll just go and download Desqview and see if it works. Better that I mess up this machine with MS-DOS than the new one with DR-DOS. Hopefully, the multitaskers will both work on the same principle so that I'll know whether or not I can use the one in the new os once I get it set up. And yes, I do know about Topview, but that's older, so I'm hedging my bets on the newer software.

Now I wanna know the difference between Desqview 2.8 and Desqview X. Also, just learned about another multitasker called Tridos. Oh boy. lol Well, one of these is bound to work.

Oh wow! I typed it wrong when researching this. I typed the word desk as it is normally and not with the letter Q, so ignore my message about the deskview and the desktop icons.
